Career Opportunities
Certified Sustainable Business Advisors (CSBAs) can go
many different directions with the training. CSBA's work in the
building industry and can specialize in areas such as energy, water
or green materials.
Others work with employers, contractors, designers,
clients and building owners on building projects. Other graduates
build homes, work as facility managers, are in the real estate field,
or work for government, utilities or sustainable industry organizations.
Many have their own consulting companies.
The training adds value to your life and career
skills in many ways and goes beyond the building field.
Green business consulting is another avenue
to pursue as a CSBA.
The opportunities are quickly growing in the
green job industries.
Testimonials:
"The NaSBAP was a great way for
me to increase my awareness of sustainable building practices
and align my existing skill-set with the emerging field. The certification
gave me a credential that helped me develop my general contracting
business and further define my professional abilities. Since earning
my certification, my career has evolved, and I'm now developing
and managing a program to transform the marketplace by educating
and supporting contractors in providing energy-efficiency improvements
in existing homes and multifamily buildings throughout Oregon.
The NaSBAP provided the foundation for me to further myself professionally.

"Every month there is a some kind
of new 'green broker' certification and educational program that
we are encouraged to participate in and pay for that will yield
a new professional certification. There are many services and
industries that are using the sustainable movement to market for
dollars and capture audiences across the board, certainly not
just the real estate professional sector. In previewing the class,
I saw positive connections to my lifestyle and employment, as
sustainability has been dear to my heart. I was hoping that it
would give me an advantage in terms of knowledge and skill that
I could use to better serve my preferred client base, and ultimately
provide more income my way. Honestly, yes, return on investment
was also a consideration in choosing the course. So - I'm glad
that I took this course for the price and commitment required.
Many mini workshops yielding other certifications are fine, but
I am grateful for what I received through participation in the
course because serious clients have recognized the class and responded
favorably to working with me as we share a value system that includes
energy efficiency and sustainability. That is worth a great deal
to me."
